2024 Holy Cross Summer Online Academy

Holy Cross is proud to offer summer courses through our Holy Cross Summer Online Academy for the summer of 2024.

THE COURSES

Which courses will be offered?

Summer School -- Online

  • Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, College Algebra, & Pre-Calculus
  • English I, English II, English III, English IV
  • World Geography, World History, US History, Government, Economics
  • Spanish I, Spanish II & Spanish III
  • Biology, Chemistry, Physics & Environmental Systems 
  • Fine Arts (Art and Music Appreciation)
  • Theology Courses (for Catholic School students)
  • Foundations of Personal Fitness (PE)
  • Health

ENROLLMENT INFORMATION

  • Dates: We will have rolling enrollments beginning April 19 until June 7.  After June 7 students will be enrolled on a case by case basis.
  • Prices: Each half credit of a high school course is $250.  A full course is $500
  • Official Enrollment Status: Students are not officially enrolled until payment and registration form are received for classes.  
  • First day classes are offered: June 10
  • Last day of classes will be offered: July 31

What can a family expect from the high school summer school teacher?

  • Real-time Google Meet "office hours" with your student's teacher
    • It is highly recommended that your student logs into the online session to ask questions and seek any clarifications that are needed
  • Teachers available by email between 10am and 4pm Monday through Friday
  • Steady and purposeful contact with teachers
  • Assignments that have specific deadlines and monitoring points
  • Teachers checking in with students via email, Google conferences, and phone
  • Clear and honest communication with teachers and administrators
  • Once students have successfully completed their course(s) they will have earned the credit for said course(s)

What should teachers expect?

  • Students checking email throughout the day
  • Students to adhere to the established timelines that are set forth for each course
  • Students to show up to Google Office Hours in order to get their questions answered
  • Emails from students and/or parents at the first sign that there are any extenuating circumstances that will prevent a student from completing an assignment by the established deadline.

If a student's intent is to take courses for advancement in their graduation plan, it is the family's responsibility to meet with their campus counselor and verify that their course will be accepted for advancement purposes.  Holy Cross Summer Online Academy is not responsible, nor will be held liable, for such assurances that a school will accept a course for advancement purposes.  

Once a class is opened and attempted on APEX a student may drop the course up until July 1st and receive a 50% refund for the amount of said course.
