Arguello, Jacob Aaron  (Ricardo Cedillo '71)

Bernal, Nicholas Benjamin (Frank Collazo '72)

Nicholas Bernal knows what the Holy Cross Family is all about. He explained that before he came back to us as a senior, he always yearned for that Holy Cross sense of family. Since his return he has taken full advantage of everything that he missed. The smile that he wears in the hallways and in class is infectious and makes people's day. Nicolas is a prime example of a student who works hard to be successful not just in academics but also to help and be of service to others -- true hallmarks of a Holy Cross graduate. We are so very happy that he came back home to Holy Cross and know that when he leaves us he will continue to brighten people's day by his positive and loving example.

Cavazos, Nathan X (Juan Mata '93)

When speaking of Nathan Cavazos, descriptive phrases such as dual credit student, football player, power lifter, and faith-filled come to mind. While he has accomplished many things in the academic and athletic realms of his high school career, it is his deep rooted faith that is his most impressive quality. His quiet and unassuming devotion has led him to be an active member of the Campus Ministry team where he helped share his faith and inspire others with his spirituality. It is this quality that bolsters those of the academic and athletic variety, because everything he does, with intention, is rooted and grounded in this strong sense of faith. This will, no doubt, help him continue to be successful in his next four years and we can't wait to hear all about his success. Thank you for your positive faith-filled example, Nathan.

Marcos Coronado is a great example of what a student-athlete looks like at Holy Cross. For while he is an indomitable force on the football field, he is even more so in the classroom. His never quit mindset has pushed him to crush academic goals here at Holy Cross as well as a dual credit student at Our Lady of the Lake University. Though his manner may be quiet and gentle in nature, his leadership is formidable by example. One only need to see how he positively influences those around him by observing how he interacts with others. We have no doubt that his next academic home will also hold him in high esteem as soon as they see him in action.
